These leather chain necklaces from the Louis Vuitton fall 2009 collection are elegant yet fun. The whole collection is absolutely phenomenal. The lace, the ruching, the pouf sleeves, the puffy jackets, the ruffled skirts, and vibrant colors are a fanciful sight. I lust after every detail. This necklace is a throwback to first grade art class constructing chain link necklaces out of paper. Who else remembers that little art project? Marc Jacobs has taken the chain necklace and made it into a stunning accessory. My heart skips a beat when I look at the black and gold necklace with pearl detailing.

Oh no-the first pink and black necklace is calling my name!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE the black suit and pink necklace. I have to say the hair things in some look like the Easter bunny to me, but, hey, it's Louis! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey remind me a little bit of Elizabethan collars as well...but maybe I've just been watching too many Tudors episodes!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if these are heavy though? I really can't stand heavy necklaces.
These are so beautiful! I quite like them with ruffles :) Being petite, I could unfortunately never pull the look off, but I know of a few ladies that would look stunning! Thanks for posting such a great find~
ReplyDeleteI adore both your blogs; everything you select is so original and beautiful. These collars, though, I don't like. But I bet I'll grow used to them once they become more popular.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting all this neat stuff!
I remember the fun of making those paper chains, Beth! Have a wonderful wknd.
ReplyDeleteStyle Redux 2- the pink and black necklace is so much fun.
ReplyDeleteg.- The black suit and pink necklace is an amazing combination. I actually think the wild hair accessory is awesome. But on madonna, not so much.
ReplyDeleteAverill- The necklaces don't look too heavy to me. If anything I feel like they'd be on the lighter side since they're made out of leather. They do have an Elizabethan feel.
ReplyDeleteSarah Klassen- I completely agree about the necklaces looking amazing with ruffles. It's a great balance.
ReplyDeleteCarolina Cordoba- Thank you. Yeah, they may grow on you. At first I was like, "These are a little different" but now I love them.
ReplyDeleteannechovie- You have a splendid weekend as well.

These necklaces are definitely a 'why didn't I think of that' kind of thing. I love them! Especially the pink one, which has a modern Elizabethan feel to it. Just my style!
