My Ballerina Fantasy & Teen Vogue

I started ballet at the age of five and have never gotten over my complete and utter adoration of black, pink, and tulle. I almost collapsed seeing the Monique Lhuillier dress on Emma Watson in the August issue of Teen Vogue. It may be just me, but although I am hardly a teenager, my favorite fashion magazine by far is Teen Vogue. I love its mix of high and low end, vintage and modern, and fun and fearless use of jewelry and head wear. Perhaps it's because their aesthetic is closer to the five year old ballerina in me. Below are some more wonderful dresses by Monique Lhuillier that definitely speak to me. Also read these previous posts on channeling your inner ballerina.

  3. Every picture here is a pure delight - I wish I had them up and framed. Number 3 (first in the group going down) seems absolutely made for Grace Kelly.
I share your fascination with ballet - I've never taken a step, but am a passionate patron of the art. I go whenever possible - it's transporting.

  4. These dresses are a dream. I still get angry at myself for quitting ballet when I was in high school...

  5. Uh oh! You've turned me on to a new magazine. I will be perusing it next time I visit a magazine stand. Thank you??

  7. The Clothes Horse-I stopped while I was in college and law school, then started again in my twenties. It's not too late! Or just dress like this!

  8. I am definitely waaaay above the age of the target audience for Teen Vogue (I could share it with my daughter, if I had one). I do find myself tempted to pick it up at the newsstand every so often, but haven't gotten up the nerve yet. You'd think I was trying to buy a naughty magazine, not a teen fashion mag! ;)
