I think that in decorating your home, and in life in general, it is the attention to detail that makes all the difference. What about a bouquet of pencils for your desk? My favorite online stationers Iomoi has the mother lode of pencils in every color imaginable. Put them in a beautiful little container like a silver mint julep cup, a marbled paper pencil holder, or an especially pretty coffee mug. The lovely vignette above is by Ruthie Sommers. Make the ordinary extraordinary.

ReplyDeleteSomeone after my own heart! Nothing drives me crazier than having a pencil holder on my desk stuffed to the brim with all kinds of random freebie pens. I'm endlessly mocked for it at work. I like a nice bright green pencil.
ReplyDeleteAround school-shopping time last year, one of the big box office supply store (maybe Staples?) had a pencil grab bin where you could buy all sorts of colors for a cheap bulk price. I stood there fending off little kids while I picked out all the green!
