I think that in decorating your home, and in life in general, it is the attention to detail that makes all the difference. What about a bouquet of pencils for your desk? My favorite online stationers Iomoi has the mother lode of pencils in every color imaginable. Put them in a beautiful little container like a silver mint julep cup, a marbled paper pencil holder, or an especially pretty coffee mug. The lovely vignette above is by Ruthie Sommers. Make the ordinary extraordinary.

These are so great. I am on my way! I love the soap I bought from ETSY thanks to you as well!
ReplyDeleteLove these, particularly the greek key pattern. I normally go for mechanical pencils, but I may have to break that habit for some of these!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! Love them! How perfect they will fit at my desk.

One of my morning duties today is to clean off my desk, and now I am longing for a package of these pencils. (Or two, or three.) If I had a mannequin (!) I'd put one behind her ear. Hee-hee.

G.-Check out their website-I love everything from them!
ReplyDeleteAverill-Think of them as an alternative to flowers for your desk. So visually lovely.
ReplyDeleteNoel-I'm guessing you would like white, blue, or pink!
ReplyDeleteCatherine-They are tres chic. BTW, loved your post!
ReplyDeleteOrange and Tiffany blue pencils!!!! Love! And so reasonably priced. I've never checked out this company before, and now I want everything on the site. There's a LOT of chinoiserie :)
ReplyDeleteCute! I especially like the Tiffany Blue ones. A friend of mine recently gave me a "smencil" (scented pencil) which I thought was pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteSF-I knew you would love it. Their things are wonderful and their customer service is outstanding!

ReplyDeleteI just bookmarked Iomoi. I am thrilled to have a source for nifty, small birthday gifts for friends. Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteSophie Dahy Designs-They are a great source for that. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSomeone after my own heart! Nothing drives me crazier than having a pencil holder on my desk stuffed to the brim with all kinds of random freebie pens. I'm endlessly mocked for it at work. I like a nice bright green pencil.
ReplyDeleteAround school-shopping time last year, one of the big box office supply store (maybe Staples?) had a pencil grab bin where you could buy all sorts of colors for a cheap bulk price. I stood there fending off little kids while I picked out all the green!
Abby-As long as you didn't punch the kids you're o.k.
