Cary Grant, Richard Gere, Robert Redford

What do Cary Grant, Richard Gere, and Robert Redford all have in common besides the obvious? The answer is Green Irish Tweed cologne by Creed. This is a plea, as Father's Day approaches, to buy the Dad in your life a bottle of this and throw out that horrible drugstore or department store stuff he wears. With the way most men smell, I don't know how they became fathers! Green Irish Tweed was created for Cary Grant and was his signature scent. It is incredibly elegant, with notes of mysore, sandalwood, ambergis, violet leaves, French verbena, and Florentine iris. It has been the favorite scent of the world's most elegant, sophisticated, powerful, and gorgeous men since its creation. Does your man wear a scent you love? I'd love to hear-if not, this is a wonderful choice.

  1. G-It's wonderful. I didn't mention that it's even being worn by many women.

  2. Le sigh... Cary Grant should be the model for ever man to live up to. I didn't know that that scent was created for him. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Dave loves Boss from Hugo Boss. It's sweeter than most men's colognes, but it's still masculine. I think it suits him, but I'll definitely have to stop by the Creed counter at NM and give this a smell!

  5. I'm not familiar with this particular scent, but I have to say I haven't found a creed scent I like (I know i'm in the minority here) - I just am very particular with scents!
One scent I love for men (and women, the men's version of it) is hanae mori - i wear it nearly everyday and strangers ask me on the street and metro what I'm wearing. It's beautiful and unique -very unisex. Check it out next time you are at a perfume counter (or my house lol).

  6. Stefan-I find most men's and women's scents on the market hideous beyond words. But I adore Irish Tweed. My signature scent is Narciso Rodriguez. My daughter loves Hanae Mori--it is a great unisex scent. Your place smells so wonderful with the Diptyque Lilac it is hard to smell you!

  7. Averill-He might like this, so he has two scents depending on his mood.

  8. This post is perfect timing!!! Just this week I saw 2 wonderful Grant movies - Notorious, with Ingrid Bergman directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and Once Upon a Honeymoon, with Ginger Rogers. Honeymoon was both strange and absolutely hilarious - Grant at his quirky, classy best.

  10. Just popped over to your site and have now put you on my list of favs on my blog. Love these actors and if my guy would only wear cologne, I would buy it for him. Maybe I'll buy a bottle just for me to open occasionally!

  11. Ms. K-Thanks for stopping by. I'd prefer a guy to wear no cologne over most of what's out there!

  12. Great post - I didn't realize the scent was created for him either. There's nothing like walking by a man who smells good...that's how I fell for my first boyfriend! He never left the house without smelling wonderful.

Combine these gorgeous men with a wonderful cologne and I'm toast.

Sanity Fair- I'm going to watch those movies this week!

  15. Ya, a lot of men smell so similar. My husband wears Davidoff, which reacts to his skin in a strange way--he smells like smoky chocolate. Yum!

  16. Frances-He sounds good enough to eat! LOL I will have to check Davidoff out.

  17. Noel-I wouldn't make this up! LOL I read it is very popular with young Hollywood women.

  18. Well, Following your suggestion, I ran into Neiman's yesterday during a quick trip there, took a sniff of Green Irish Tweed, and bought a bottle for my husband for Father's Day. Smells heavenly! I'll give it to him as soon as he gets off the golf course.
