Summer Statement Necklace

One of the best accessories a girl can have is a beautiful statement necklace. The agate rocks on this piece are such a stunning detail. This is definitely going on my Summer wish list.

Summer 2010 Nail Color-Blue

If you see Chanel's Nouvelle Vague Le Vernis Nail Color anywhere, grab it. This sold out Limited Edition color is the hottest thing since last year's Jade. We of course bought it the day it arrived. This is summer's best catch-a blue that is bold, but wearable. "This new polish forms part of a collection that, with its bright, chilly pinks and shimmery bronzers carries with it a hint of toxic retro aesthetic, a distinctly Betty Draper sense of warped elegance and repressed rebellion." Sarah Vine, Times Online.

Domino Magazine Blues
Having just received my first issue of Architectural Digest that the brain surgeons at Conde Nast are substituting for our beloved Domino, I really need a Domino fix. My lovely blogger friend Averill at Odi et Amo did the most gorgeous post yesterday on blue and white rooms, so I was inspired to do a post on my favorite blue rooms from Domino. Gone but not forgotten my love!

The Blue Bar

The stunning Blue Bar by interior designer David Collins at the Berkeley Hotel in London is the most beautiful bar I have ever seen. It's lacquered blue walls establish a mood of elegance and sophistication that is truly transcendent. It defies the conventional wisdom that blue in interior design is more of a beach or country living look, or best resigned to bedrooms. Pictured below are some rooms from Domino Magazine that show how sophisticated and modern blue can be. Also, be sure to check out my previous post on another gorgeous bar by David Collins, the Artesian Bar in London. Reminder-have you already left your entry in my Domino giveaway?

Miles Redd's Blue Door

This beautiful robin's egg blue door belongs to the very talented interior designer Miles Redd. It is #4 in the series of guest posts entitled Domino's Icons of Style I am doing for the blog We Love Domino. Please stop by to see my tips on how to emulate this elegant door for your own home, including paint colors and hardware advice. If any of you have used this color on your own door I would love it if you would send me a photo.
