Summer Statement Necklace

One of the best accessories a girl can have is a beautiful statement necklace. The agate rocks on this piece are such a stunning detail. This is definitely going on my Summer wish list.

Statement Necklaces

When I'm in the mood to wear a necklace I turn to pieces that are striking and unique. My favorite necklaces are ones that will catch a person's eye. At the moment I absolutely love the Crystal Bow Necklace and the Parted Curtain Collar.

Dramatic Pearls

I have always loved pearls. Today's modern approach can be as dramatic as you wish. Go oversized-although this Peter Jensen version above is clearly just runway fun. Layer multiple strands. Wear them draped on your back for dresses with beautiful or low cut backs. Mix real and faux. Such a beautiful and timeless but current look.

City Girl Statement Necklace
These necklaces by J. Crew are tres magnifique. I think the crystal and bows adds great charm and decadence to this piece. While the mixed chains bring an unexpected edge. The perfect balance between tough and sweet.

A Bit of Ballet

I love statement necklaces. One of my own favorites is this Battement Necklace I bought earlier this year from Anthropologie. It's a great way to add an ultra-feminine look to any outfit, and marries my love of the ballet and pink. Although it is no longer available, here are two other great similar looks to jazz up your fall/winter wardrobe, both very well priced. At Etsy, add this white Elizabethan ruff to black or gray for a knockout look. At Anthropologie, this pale beige tulle collar would be stunningly ephemeral against navy, black, or chocolate brown. Or do as Diana Vreeland suggested, and tie tulle around your wrists! I plan to wear my tulle necklace tonight with this navy blue wool dress trimmed in silk organza by Phillip Lim.

Anthropologie Flora-in-Focus Necklace

How's this for a statement necklace? Think what this would do to any dress or t-shirt. I am in love....

The Statement Necklace

Vera Wang
Once again statement necklaces are very big this fall. One of the easiest ways to receive a compliment on your style is to find a necklace with a major pop factor. Designers have gone to dramatic extremes with pieces that are embellished, textured, layered, heavy, and severe. These necklaces have a tough and serious edge, but remain feminine at the same time. Nowadays shoppers want investment pieces that can carry them from day to night and that will complement different outfits. In this economic climate women are spending money on items that will enhance their closet. Something like a bold and beautiful necklace is a smart investment. It's a simple way to add instant glamour and elegance.
Here is a list of ways you can showcase one of these fabulous necklaces:
1. Business suit
2. Collarless jacket
3. Strapless dress
4. Long silk dress
5. Wrap coat
6. Fur coat
7. Blazer
8. V-neck sweater

Jewelry Must-Haves
Banana Republic is back on my radar these days. Top fashion mags are featuring stunning statement necklaces, cheap but very chic bangles, and relaxed silk blouses and pants all from Banana. The store is revamping their image and giving us their take on modern sophistication. The website is looking polished and refreshed. It even has style lookbooks, which is one of my favorite features on fashion sites. The jewelry on their website is what I find most inviting. I must not be the only one who thinks so because this bib necklace I love (price point $125ish) is no longer available online! Isn't it lovely?

The pieces look very designer without breaking the bank. Needless to say that is on everyone's minds these days. Here are a few of my chosen favorites:
bib necklace- delicate and sweet.

standout necklace- coral and fringe.
