I can't get enough of sequins lately. My mind keeps wandering to the beautiful blazers, skirts, t-shirts, and frocks designed by a couple of my favorite designers, Gryphon and Phillip Lim. Tonight I saw a woman wearing these adorable flats and it was love at first sight. Sequin ballet flats and pumps were popular last year at Miu Miu and Prada and are making a splash all over again. The sequin necklace above is a great Marni find from last week at Neiman's Last Call. I can't wait to wear this stand-out piece with fancy coats or even just a plain tee and skinny jeans. I'm thrilled to see sequins in a variety of colors-- silver, blue, grey, gold, black and white. There's much fun and experimenting that can be done with this great trend. Sophisticated sequins are expensive so watch out for a versatile investment piece that you can dress up or down and wear day and night. The one rule to follow is to buy a piece that you know you'll wear more than once. It's easy to be swayed by the sheer prettiness, but be confident that it'll become one of your favorite closet staples.

ReplyDeleteI agree about the ties in back-makes it! Especially gives it a new look-who knew bows & sequins. Love the necklace you picked. GT
ReplyDeleteOne of my go-to styles for dressy events is a smart black suit with a sexy sequined shell underneath. Just that flash of sparkle with the conservative black...love it!
ReplyDeletei'm a sequin-a-holic...love it! although it's not something i wear very often, i'm always drawn to it when i'm shopping.
