We Won!

Here are Kate, Izzy, and I before the festivities began last night at the Dog Halloween Costume Party at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, Virginia. We are all dressed as Coco Chanel. It was a great night, with several hundred people attending and about 70 dogs competing. Izzy was the returning champion, Most Glamorous Dog, having won last year. We all strutted our stuff last night on the runway and Izzy once again won Most Glamorous Dog. Hooray! We won a fabulous weekend and dinner at the very swank Morrison House in Old Town, Alexandria. Since it is a dog friendly hotel, Kate, Izzy, and I will all have a great weekend getaway to look forward to. There were lots of press there, so I hope to post some better pictures tomorrow. Thanks to the Hotel Monaco and the judges for their great taste!

Halloween Style Redux II

I will be going to two Halloween parties this year. On Thursday, my daughter and co-blogger Kate, my Tibetan Spaniel Isabella "Izzy" and I will be going to the swank Dog Halloween Costume Party at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, Virginia. Alexandria is a very dog friendly city, with most businesses open to dogs with fresh water and treats. All three luxury hotels in Alexandria are dog friendly. Last year there was a huge turnout at the Hotel Monaco with press and celebrity judges and dozens of dogs competing. Here is Izzy last year when she won Most Glamorous Dog-please note the Chanel coat, Chanel flower pin, and Louis Vuitton handbag. This year, Kate, Izzy, and I are all going as Coco Chanel in black and white Chanel inspired outfits. Photos to come of course. Saturday I will be attending a private party. I always like wearing a beautiful black dress and long gloves with a great hat or headband. Here are four great ideas from my collection. A wonderful vintage clock hat-I can go as "Time" or a "Clock." My new Louis Vuitton bunny ears to be a very stylish "Bunny." Two spider hats for a very glamorous "Spider." Click on the photo to enlarge. Which do you like? Any Halloween parties on the horizon for you and what will you wear?

My Preppy Princess

Izzy's birthday is right around the corner and what she keeps asking for is this Ralph Lauren Big Pony Mesh Polo in pink, her favorite color. Here she is last Halloween winning first prize for Most Glamorous Dog at the Hotel Monaco attired in her Chanel coat, camellia pin and Louis Vuitton handbag. Her prize was dinner for two at one of the nicest restaurants in Old Town Alexandria-my husband and I went and brought her a doggie bag! What do you think? Wouldn't she be too cute? But why didn't they pop the collars on these?
