Lapin

Since our post on Friday on those wonderful Louis Vuitton leather chain necklaces, I am obsessed with the wildly chic bunny ears Marc Jacobs sent down the runway. Created by Londoner Katie Grand, for me they stole the show, much like the incredible paper headpieces by Japanese stylist Katsuya Kamo stole the show in Chanel's spring 2009 haute couture collection and were the talk of the town. I love the way the bunny ears are accented with enormous pearl hat pins. They remind me of Fifi Lapin who I adore. The amazing Marc Jacobs has done it again, turning Playboy bunny ears into couture chic. I doubt I will be seeing these on the streets of DC, but a girl can always dream....

The French Dressing Room

Isn't this wonderful? As you all have figured out, I love pink and black, bows, very feminine, and with a French feel. This has it all in spades. This image is from one of my favorite blogs and bloggers, Sande from A Gift Wrapped Life via Paris Atelier. Sande's blog is on the art of giving and it is a visual feast. I saved it because I thought it would be such a fun DIY. These metal forms are widely available from tabletop to large. Just pick a color and lots of ribbon, tie bows all over and voila. I am going to do one of these for my very girly pink dressing room. It would also be wonderful in a girl's bedroom. Pink, black, a combination of pink and black, turquoise blue, any of these colors would be gorgeous!

Louis Vuitton Delight

These leather chain necklaces from the Louis Vuitton fall 2009 collection are elegant yet fun. The whole collection is absolutely phenomenal. The lace, the ruching, the pouf sleeves, the puffy jackets, the ruffled skirts, and vibrant colors are a fanciful sight. I lust after every detail. This necklace is a throwback to first grade art class constructing chain link necklaces out of paper. Who else remembers that little art project? Marc Jacobs has taken the chain necklace and made it into a stunning accessory. My heart skips a beat when I look at the black and gold necklace with pearl detailing.

May I Come Too?

I found this lovely photo by fashion photographer Corrie Bond via Lisa Porter's excellent blog The Lisa Porter Collection and thought how much this captures my favorite things-black tulle, pink luggage, turquoise blue stilettos, a beautiful hat in a hat box, a great vintage Cadillac. Swoon....

Tim Walker's Paradise

Cutting edge and avant-garde photographer Tim Walker is well known in Europe for his prolific work in British and Italian Vogue, but is far less known in the United States. His photography is stunningly beautiful. A book of his work Tim Walker Pictures was published last summer, and has been in my saved for later cart at Amazon for months. I can no longer resist, and thought I would share some of his gorgeous pictures. A former apprentice to Richard Avedon, he clearly channels Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, and Norman Parkinson, but with a decidedly modern sensibility. His madcap theatricality is brilliant. Can you imagine one of his photo shoots?
