As summer turns to autumn, my thoughts turn to coats, one of my many passions. So here is a look at the coats of Mad Men, for what era did coats better than the 1960s? My coat collection includes three vintage beauties from this era-a very glamorous silk lined gold sequined coat, a tapestry princess coat, and a fox trimmed black evening coat. See the last three photos. Be on the lookout in vintage stores for 1960s coats. Please don't forget your gloves whatever you do. Pink & Grey
I think pink and grey is one of the prettiest color combinations for fall. I love how soft, light, and romantic these pastels are. My inspiration for my chic finds is the Christian Dior fall 09 runway picture above. It's such a sweet and demure evening look. I also love this shot captured on The Sartorialist; it's classic yet effortless.

I See Sequins
I can't get enough of sequins lately. My mind keeps wandering to the beautiful blazers, skirts, t-shirts, and frocks designed by a couple of my favorite designers, Gryphon and Phillip Lim. Tonight I saw a woman wearing these adorable flats and it was love at first sight. Sequin ballet flats and pumps were popular last year at Miu Miu and Prada and are making a splash all over again. The sequin necklace above is a great Marni find from last week at Neiman's Last Call. I can't wait to wear this stand-out piece with fancy coats or even just a plain tee and skinny jeans. I'm thrilled to see sequins in a variety of colors-- silver, blue, grey, gold, black and white. There's much fun and experimenting that can be done with this great trend. Sophisticated sequins are expensive so watch out for a versatile investment piece that you can dress up or down and wear day and night. The one rule to follow is to buy a piece that you know you'll wear more than once. It's easy to be swayed by the sheer prettiness, but be confident that it'll become one of your favorite closet staples.

Strumpet & Pink
Can anyone take a wild guess what these gorgeous photos are of? They are closeup shots of Strumpet & Pink knickers (or panties for us in the U.S.). To me, their lingerie is the most beautiful in the world. For a previous post of mine on Strumpet & Pink, click here. These photos are the work of one of my favorite blogs, Frou Frou Fashionista and are available at Faire Frou Frou, their shop and online store. If you are a devotee of the world's sexiest and most exquisite lingerie in the world, you must visit their blog and store. I especially like the fact that they are mother/daughter bloggers, just like Kate and I.
