As a long time fan of Philippe Starck and his iconic creations like the Louis Ghost chair, I read with fascination the article on him in this past Sunday's New York Times Magazine. I have not been able to stop thinking of his amazing vintage beach car. The car, a Fiat Shellette, was once owned by soprano Maria Callas. With its elegant, sleek, understated lines, and wicker seats, it has to be the most beautiful summer beach car ever.
Gorgeous! Now I just need that and a beach house on the Vineyard to drive it around on. :)
ReplyDeleteAverill-Wouldn't South Padre Island be closer for you?
ReplyDeletevery retro and fun looking. I like the colors. Nowdays they all seem to be gray/blue metallic.
ReplyDeleteIzabella-I love them all, but especially the red.
ReplyDeleteUnBELIEVABLY gorgeous and fun. Helloooo Wish List! ;)
ReplyDeleteMLHP-I love vintage cars and this is the cutest.
ReplyDeleteThis car is probably THE cutest, most chic looking car I have seen! I totally agree with Averill, and I can picture it situated in front of a shingled gray, sprawling beach house...The Hamptons? OoooOOOooh, thinking of "Something's Gotta Give" /Sucha dream car, thanks for posting~
ReplyDeleteSarah-It would have been so perfect for "Something's Gotta Give." Would Diane Keaton have driven it?
ReplyDeleteI am into this car. Just need a big straw hat and huge sunglasses and I am off!!
ReplyDeleteG.-And bring your own seat belt! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd swop my Ferrari for one of these. I wish. I love these babies; juicy colours oh.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this beach ride! I can just see Maria Callas riding in this. Thanks for a very cool post.
