Be a Carpetbagger
Since fashion and interior design are my two great passions, I was thrilled to find these gorgeous bags that combine the two! Mary Kaiser Ltd. is full of wondrous things, but these carpet bags, her signature, are my favorite. She uses fabrics like Scalamandre, Clarence House, and Lee Jofa in gros point, cut velvet, and tapestry and lines each with silk. Each bag is then trimmed in such things as vintage ribbon and braid, French jacquard, velvet flowers, and Italian brass and leather hardware. The beautiful ribbons are pinned on and can be taken off to wear on a dress or hat. These are $325 which I think is a great price for such a couture one of a kind handbag. Which one is your favorite? I adore the first bag in one of my favorite Scalamandre fabrics. I know my friend at Sanity Fair is going to go wild for the green coral bag.
Sanity Fair L-o-v-e-'s the bag!!!!! Seriously! Thanks for the tip. :) The green and white zebra is great too! Having an original handbag is such a wonderfully fresh concept - everywhere you go, people are carrying the same old thing.
ReplyDeleteSF-You are so right-I'm getting a little over the "it" bags and the $2000 price tags. These are unique.
ReplyDeleteFantastic bags! Do they make guys bags.... I'm off to see!
ReplyDeleteScott-I guess it depends on the guy.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is pounding!!!!! LOVE these bags!
ReplyDeleteVirginia-Do you have a favorite?
