Kate Spade Rain Chic

This is the cutest and most perfect look for a rainy spring day. The bright color palette and fun accessories make you actually look forward to spring showers. I particularly love the mod swing coat. Who says you can't look this cute when it pours?

Timeless Tweed

Tweed is not just for the cold weather months, but, like velvet and cashmere, has become a fabric to wear all year round. The photo above is from the Chanel Cruise 2010 collection. Below are some great Kate Spade versions-a couple are even on sale. Tweed is timeless, classic, and elegant, and, in these great colors, will span the seasons for you.

Come Sail Away

Continuing with yesterday's nautical theme post here are some key pieces to get you geared up for spring. How cute is that striped dress above?

Kate Spade Spring Stripes

Who does stripes better than Kate Spade? Here are my favorites for spring. Above, the Striped Rosette Tank. I adore the oversized flower-so chic and cheeky-definitely on my wish list. Below, the Sag Harbor Dinner Plate. So Hamptons, so versatile, so whimsical for the blue and white table.

The iPhone Case. Whimsy and safety for your precious iPhone-I got one for Christmas and I love it.

The Soda Fountain Stripe Ivy Car Coat. So classic and vintage, with three quarter sleeves and bow buttons.

The Wellie Magee Bag. So brilliant-the wellie boot reinvented as a waterproof handbag. Bring on the rain!

The Golden Globes-My List

Alas, the gown above by Loris Azzaro is a dress I would have loved to see on the red carpet. Most dresses fell into the category of what was she thinking? Below are my three favorites-that's all I liked. Below, Maggie Gyllenhaal in Roland Mouret. Whose gown did you love?

An Education

If you have not seen the movie An Education, catch it before it closes. This coming of age story set in 1960s suburban London, is a British Mad Men for its perfect styling of this era and its look at society in pre-swinging London. The clothes and cars are fabulous, as is this story of bright 16 year old Jenny headed hopefully to Oxford (played brilliantly by Carey Mulligan), and her whirlwind romance with an older playboy David (Peter Sarsgaard) twice her age. I want a Bristol car by the way. Like Betty Draper learns of Don, David is more complicated than he seems. Witty and elegant, this is a lovely film.

Lingerie Fashion

Lingerie is undoubtedly one of the sexiest trends for spring. A lot of women are a little apprehensive when they think about lingerie fashion. How can one pull off this look with taste and sophistication? Is this strictly a runway look? If you're in the mood to be daring then it's definitely a trend worth experimenting with. Try a pantsuit like at Bottega Veneta and add a corset. Or a black bra under sheer silk like at Christian Dior (above). Those are both perfect examples of incorporating the trend without having to leave your comfort zone too much.

In spring 2009 Prada's collection was very lingerie focused, which I loved. My fashion fantasy is to dress up like this one night.

I am currently obsessing over sheer and corset lingerie looks:

Christopher Kane
John Galliano
