The Twilight Saga: New Moon

I'm not sure which I enjoyed more, seeing the movie last night or reading this brilliantly funny review from the Guardian.

Thanksgiving Attire

I've decided on my outfit for Thanksgiving. I've chosen this gold Vera Wang dress that I'll be wearing with raccoon collar and cuffs, a Louis Vuitton handbag, and Manolo Blahnik pumps. Click on photos to enlarge. And no, I won't be cooking in this! I established a wonderful family tradition several years ago of getting all dressed up and going to Georgia Brown's in D.C. for peach martinis, fried green tomatoes, fried turkey, and the best collard greens. No cooking, no leftovers, no football-my perfect Thanksgiving. Whatever your family tradition is, do it with style and have a wonderful day.

Polka Dotted Tights

Dot tights are all the rage this fall. Emanuel Ungaro went funky with silver metallic dots, while Balenciaga kept it simple with black sheer ones. There are so many options when it comes to dots, which is great news for polka dot lovers. I might just be the only woman in D.C. who loves wearing standout tights. I have hope that many of the city's fabulous fashionistas will warm up to the idea of patterned tights because it's one of winter's best accessories. I read that Tim Gunn thinks so too! See, all the more reason to get on board.

Trend: Lace for fall

Lace is one of the most romantic and seductive trends for the season. I think Valentino and Stella McCartney did the most exquisite job with lace this season. The lace masks at Valentino are personal favorites of mine. I secretly want to dress up like this every single day. Black lace in particular makes such a beautiful statement. I've chosen a few pieces that would be positively dashing for the holidays.
